hey its been a loooooooooong time since i've been here. its a lousy excuse, but i don't have the time to blog now. ever since i've enlisted, weekends are for me to go out and enjoy and recuperate and i hardly ever find the motivation to blog. so i guess this is where my blog ends (at least until my next block leave or when i ORD haha)

just an update on what's happening to me now, i'm currently in echo wing of ocs, at safti:mi. i'm training to be an infantry officer now, but i'm keen on becoming an artillery officer come september. mainly because my dad was an artillery officer during his ns days too, and he's strongly encouraging me to go for it. also, there's this innate fascination that i have with artillery guns, and i feel that i could do with a fresh perspective towards the army haha.

as for my life after army, i've been accepted into the law faculty at nus. my term starts in 2008 and i'll still be a freshie while all the girls in council and class will be my seniors haha. that's an interesting thought. till my next update (which may be a very very long time later), goodbye!

today - the day before tomorrow, results day.
woohoo last post before results! i'm really really genuinely nervous liao. i dreamt about taking my results last night, and i got a bbcd. i'd take a bbcd anytime for prelims or common tests, but not for a levels man. i've never gotten a single A in my life, and i'm planning to get As for a levels, hoping for a miracle! everyone seems to be dreaming about a levels. youyi dreamt that he got Cs and Ds, heng wee dreamt something else that was shitty and shaun dreamt that he got EEFF. dreams are usually the opposite of reality. i certainly hope that's the case tomorrow. i'm off to drown away my nervousness by playing dota with the guys. good luck ;)

hmm been quite some time since i last typed in an entry here. call it lazy i guess, but the motivation to blog has somewhat waned this year. i've been listening to loads of army stories from the ns boys in the past weeks, and it's kinda daunting to hear some of the things they do, but at the same time, it's quite hilarious too haha. i've heard of this guy in jason's company who was sent to imh because he went bonkers in camp. hope i don't turn into that come april. i've finished all my driving lessons already, just waiting for the stupid test, which is on 29th of june. for those learning driving, book your test date quick! apparently you have to book 5 months in advance -.-

mm the main reason for me coming out of blog stagnation is of course that thing that's happening on 1st march. i know i know, we're all freaking out because that's when the A LEVEL RESULTS come out!! the nerves haven't set in yet, but as the date slowly inches closer and closer, the nervousness and trepidation is starting to get to me. argh. -cross fingers- good luck all! can't wait to see everyone on wednesday. i kind of miss school life and the usual classroom and councilroom antics. went back to school on thursday to play badminton and film some mass dance thingy. 'twas so heartening to see the ol' familiar faces in house tees and council shirts just lazing around not worrying about anything at all.

ohh, how i miss school.
happy 2006! it's 3rd jan and the start of the school year once again, only this time i'm not in school. i miss the dread-filled feeling of going to school on the first day of the term, fearing the worst in terms of assignments and tests. this newfound freedom is somewhat refreshing, knowing that i'm no longer within the bounds of the school calendar. however, as i went back to school for the first day of orientation, memories start flooding back as i see the throngs of j1s in their respective sec sch uniforms. i'm reminded of OUR orientation, la famiglia 2005, and the previous one, olympia 2004. all the j3s who went back were relishing in our newfound freedom. when the schoolbell rung while we were playing soccer, no longer must we rush back to class because break or lunch is over. i don't know whether to be happy, or to miss my nj days haha. it was great to see all those familiar faces - shaun, heng, dc, kenny, prad, joe, yang, melvin, yc, derrick, vicky, chok, chris, candace, minghui etc. went to city hall by sharing a cab with christopher and pengfei to meet diana, yen and rard. as usual, someone was late haha (guess who). after which we had ben and jerry's at suntec. it's good stuff i must admit, but it tastes just like normal ice cream with big chocolate chunks in it to me. apparently di and yen don't agree. :\ stubborn. ;)

the day before, had a small gathering at shaun's place. me, shaun, heng, rard, dc, kenny, prad, joe, jason, yc, derrick, yang, jk, di and yen. went home with jk, where we missed the last train by 3 mins, missed the next last bus by 8 mins, and eventually had to get off from a bus at a red light junction, all in one night. in the end, hasan fetched us home from the mrt station. thanks!

okay in like five days time, most of the guys will be off at tekong chalet for ns vacation. good luck to you guys. i still have 3 months to while away with temp jobs and driving lessons. happy belated new year!

hey. happy boxing day people. i'm looking forward to the second 37th council christmas party at diana's house tmr. they are the craziest bunch of errmm, for lack of a better word, assorted people i've ever known, and its an honour. i'm also looking forward to stuffing the turkey's ass, laughing at our own stupid jokes, and simply relive all the stupid moments during our term. these memories are once again, for lack of a better word, unforgettable. i've been going out every day for the past week or so, it's been really hectic. just today, i met up with pradz, cand, melvin, bob and weechiew for an hour or so. it was quite harrowing listening to bobby's stories about the army (with all the fire drills and route marches and all), i'm psyched up! haha. after meeting up with them i went home and logged on to msn, and hasan suddenly messaged me calling me a shithead. smelling something fishy, since hasan isn't the kind to call people shithead, i probed further and found out it was...... who else but shaun and jk calling me shithead. they were at hasan's house playing by the pool, so i dropped by for dinner with them, and to buy presents for tmr's gift exchange. can't wait for tmr!

anyway, man united match starting soon. west brom's so gonna get knocked out on boxing day (no pun intended)

hey. where has my motivation to blog gone to? haha. oh well christmas is around the corner. 2 days time in fact. and its that time of the year where friends send christmas greetings to each other, ppl buy presents for relatives and loved ones, and a certain russian oil tycoon buys new toys for his plaything, a certain london-based football club.

it's a damning fact, to say the least, that only 3 of the current first team chelsea players weren't bought during the abramovich tenure. most of the rest were bought at over-inflated prices essien, wright-phillips and veron for more than 20million each? come on, these players can't be worth that much right. the premiership is now, unexciting because of it's increasing predictability i suppose. not many can see anyone else catching chelsea at the top of the table. the combined total value of the entire wigan team is less than that of shaun wright-phillips alone (and wright-phillips isn't even playing regular football at chelsea) what is the world coming to? man united - west brom over the weekend, another opportunity for man u to keep up the pressure, and to pounce on any chelsea slip ups :) i predict: manunited 2:0 westbrom!

ok finished ranting. anyway i've learnt how to cross-stitch! what a manly activity. i can't believe i actually found it fun to cross stitch. s12 guys did stitching for the girls because we felt bad that they did something for us and we didn't haha. it was tedious initially, but all of us soon got the hang of it, and soon a group of guys were sitting silently at the living room cross stitching. haha we delivered the finished product to their mailboxes today. it was fascinating watching seehoo drive us around in a red honda, with youyi and vincent prompting him to horn at slower vehicles and stop along the road to pick up girls. managed to deliver all in the end, overwhelming sense of achievement! went to meet di, yen and rard to buy groceries from carrefour for the xmas party and had to lug them all the way back to di's house, where i realised i left my handphone in the taxi ): handphone-deprivation arghhh. somehow it feels really weird to be not holding my handphonee. i feel... vulnerable haha. i will get it back soon! it's currently in custody at diana's house haha. ok hunger pangs striking now.. i just realised that i haven't had my dinner. shall snack ;) till the next time i blog, seeya.

everything finally came to an end dec 1st. the real end. no more gatherings as a whole anymore. in fact that night was the last night i'll ever see some of their faces in my entire life. well from here on, i'm about to embark on a whole new journey of self-discovery and the fulfilment of my dreams! right. who am i kidding.. more likely its i'm about to embark on an aimless four months of idlement with nothing to look forward to. its driving lessons and temp jobs for the time being i guess.

prom was, to put it simply, an unforgettable experience. haha. one year ago, it was black shirts and pink ties for the guys and simple black dresses for the girls, but this year, everyone was strikingly different, dressed in their best formal attire. met s12 in the afternoon to book our room at swissotel before the guys went to style their hair at far east plaza. made it back to the hotel just in time to see all the class girls doing their makeup and "tattooes". as bear bear put it, it was free entertainment for the guys hahah. the programme was cool, including a terribly unfunny middle-aged host with a receding hairline and a poor command of english. snapped away the evening before camping out the night in our class hotel room on the 9th floor, with a pathetic view of the construction site in front of suntec city. i think nobody slept that night, i went out to 7-11 at 4am with hua, ivy and nissa, and we were all decked out in hotel slippers, sockless black shoes and super shabby, thinking that there wouldn't be anyone out in the streets. haha apparently we thought wrongly.. so many nj ppl out there just chilling out.. saw alvin drunk near swissotel haha.. he was damn funny.

just like that, prom ended, and very soon, it was back to normal life with little to look forward to. a big big thank you to everyone out there who have made jc life so much more entertaining and bearable. thank you 04s12 for hanging on together as a class these 2 years. thank you 37th for the best period of my life. thank you shaunbeardiyennette for being part of both class and council, appreciate it. thank you vcs for being crazy idiots. thank you ob lumut people, for being part of a very special group of people i know. thank you dota-ers and (for a brief period of time) maplers for spending countless hours discussing dota strategies. thank you u ppl frm class,council,solaris etc. who have changed my life. so many shout-outs, so little time.

class bbq at shiqin's house last night turned out a huge success. the class girls bid a solemn farewell to the guys one last time before we enlisted. and believe me, if there wasn't so many people there, i would've cried. they prepared a presentation, cd's, the barbeque, and an oreo cheesecake for us. i bet other class guys v jealous now hahaha. being the bottomless pits that we are, the guys ate satay after satay, sausage after sausage, chicken wing after chicken wing. everything that they gave us (not that we mind though hehe). played the seal game where yen throws pieces of food into the air and i have to catch them with my mouth so that she can be entertained hahha. what a peculiar form of entertainment. i'm going to miss everyone.
